Dots dots dots and more dots!

Toenails and flip flops
Teacups and daisies
Pepsi and polka dots
And all other crazies

Running with scissors
Eating green fizzers.
Watching bubbles pop
Hoping it wont stop.
\
What blows your horn
Or pops your corn ?
What flosses your candy?
What makes your beach sandy?

Is it the pink bubblegum?
Or the beat of a drum?
Is it the moves in the dance?
Or the thought of a chance?

What ever it is..
Find your box of colours
And never let them fade!

The wedding

So, finally my roommate got married! Congrats, Vina! ...and Iqbal, of course!

So, Matt is still in DC and randomly he called me at midnight while I was sleeping like a baby. We talk for 7 hours and I finally got to sleep at 7 in the morning! 3 hours later, Mutia, the lady who was going to put make up on the bride came n kind of yelled at me because I was still sleeping at 10... So I got up, but my mind was still sleeping and somehow I felt nervous at the same time! After I made breakfast (instant noodle hehehe) for the bride, we got ready and stuff... Again, I was half sleeping and nervous!
At the wedding, when it was about "I DO" time, my heart beat so fast! I was so scared that I was gonna faint >_< I'm happy for them. Getting married is a big decision. I think I'm too young for that :)

We love Santa!

(Nadir - me - Matt)
One random day, when the road was very icy, it was 2nd day of exam but college was cancelled/closed due to the bad weather :)
So we went to Lindalle Mall to take a pic with Santa!

Farewell to 2008

Yes, I am ready to say goodbye to 2008 and welcoming 2009 with arms wide open, although there's a tiny part of me wanting 2008 to be last a bit longer (than just a few days!), but i keep reminding myself the new cruising will be easier and so much fun than the old one.
2008 year of luck in my life, a huge prize came onto my lap, and here I am, studying in the United States! The travels to Singapore, Hongkong, Chicago, and Washington DC was the delicious spices added in it. The words are never enough to explain how thankful I am.

Deep inside, nobody knows how bad I'd been craving for comfort and love. How painful it was to actually look back to those broken relationships. Why couldn't I work it out?
My life was (and still is) great, awesome, amazing, beautiful! But my lovelife was not. How hard I tried to balance it all but failed because of those great once in a lifetime opportunities came onto my lap. Maybe I was selfish, but I just wanted to live my life to the fullest. I never regret the things I did, but those which I didn't do, and I wish I had more time and chances to do it.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

I <3 Leopard!

So, I decided to decorate my room like a jungle! :D Not really like a jungle, but full of animal print stuff. I still have my leopard sarong that I bought in Bali a week before I left to America. Since it's winter and impossible for me to wear a bikini underneath the sarong and hanging out at the beach (sadly, there's not beach in Iowa...), I decided to use the sarong as a curtain hehehe! Or maybe just decoration.
Couple of days ago, I purchased leopard-print pillow case from DDAUGHERTY @ Etsy

Next: black flannel sheet and some other leopard print thingys. I will take a picture and post it when it's done. Might take a month or so, as I'm pretty broke at the moment :)

Prettige Kerstdagen!

Christmas this year I'm away from my family, so for dinner my roommate made lasagna, and I made rice, tuna, spicy pork soup, and brownies. I burnt the brownies though! And I don't set up a Christmas tree. Maybe next time.
Things really is happen for a reason. Even though I celebrate Christmas by myself, I've got a gorgeous Christmas gift! It came early though ;) His name is Matt.

Wish you all the Merriest Christmas!!

She's getting married!

Woah! My Indonesian roommate is getting married with an Indonesian guy she met in our college. Apparently, he lives in the same building, just different floor. What a coincidence! Or maybe they're meant to be together?
Today we went shopping for her wedding thing, like flowers, ribbons and stuff. We also went to this wedding preparation meeting. There was an old man who gave some advice to them about marriage. He scares the shit outta me! When he was explaining so many things about marriage, I felt so sick and change my mind about it. No marriage for me! Well, I'm only 22 and I'm not ready, I don't think I will be ready for the next 10 years... Well, unless someone can convince me...
Anybody has positive opinion about marriage for me?

Time to reward ourselves!

8 days to Christmas, yet I haven't found the right tree yet =) I want a pink Christmas tree like this...

But thinking of going to trift stores in a cold and icy days (I'm talking about -18*C temperature and below) makes me want to just hibernating at home, like a bear.
Since this is my 1st Christmas away from home...like thousand miles away, I'm not that excited. There'll be no Christmas dinner with family, unless my mentor family invite me. There'll be no mom who's eager to drag me to the church in the morning.
I just don't feel that Christmas spirit in me. But anyway, I'm gonna
reward myself with a few things like this...

Have you thought about rewarding yourself?

2008 is the craziest year in my life! The guys that added some spices in it, my 1st summer n winter experience in the USA, the travels, the ups and downs, the 1st and the most terrible homesickness, the special people that change my life and will always be in my heart, my girl Sundari from Intimate Vignettes whom I haven't talked to for so long, I miss you babe!
My conclusion is 2008 was (and still is) awesome!

Stay warm!

So I've been told to keep myself warm, wear layers of sweater and coats. My mentor mama is like a non-stop reminder :)
And here's a couple of lovely sweater that I found from Victoria Secret

There are also a few coats that you might like :)

Have fun shopping! ;)

Let me wear that sundress...

I truly miss wearing sundress and flip flop. But the winter in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is killing me. After layered with 2 thick leggings and a pair of jeans, my legs still freezing and even my bones sometimes feels so sore. For the top i layered myself with 2 sweaters and a coat, still I'm shivering at the bus stop...
Hopefully on spring break I'll be able to go to somewhere warm. Wear sundress, flipflop, and sunnies ;)

My girls...

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
They may seem like a Godsend, and they are!
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered, and now it is time to move on.

I love my girls!
